Ship paintings and maritime scenes old and modern in watercolour oils or acrylic

I was honoured to be selected from a short list of three to paint a picture of The Royal Navy's latest nuclear powered attack submarine HMS ASTUTE, currently under construction at BAE SYSTEMS at Barrow-in-Furness. The painting, destined to be hung in the Officers Wardroom on the submarine, was completed and delivered to the yard in October. The Sponsor of the vessel, HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, made a visit to the yard on October 21st 2008, and during the visit viewed the painting. The ASTUTE is the first of a new generation of nuclear hunter-killer submarines, being constructed in the Devonshire Dock Hall in Barrow, together with the second vessel in the class HMS AMBUSH.
